Kelly Higgins

Kelly Higgins: Small Business Strategy & Marketing Consultant

Kelly enjoyed a 15-year long career in the IT departments of several Fortune 500 companies, ending up at the Home Depot as a Senior Network Engineer. She found that she excelled in high-level planning sessions: seeing the gap between the sales and marketing goals of the Operations group and the manpower limitations and technical complexities plaguing the IT group. She became a liaison of sorts between IT and Operations.

Kelly was a natural for the Home Depot’s foray into Project Management for IT in the early 2000s and became one of their first Certified PMPs. Kelly leveraged her research and analysis expertise as Project Analyst on the massive $27M undertaking that took

the Home Depot from clipboards to barcodes in the inventory receiving department.

Kelly currently operates a freelance marketing business. She designs and develops websites and serves as an advisor to small business owners. Research into their industry and analysis of current market trends allows her to create engaging content for their website copy and blog posts. Her clients span a diverse range of disciplines,

including video production, yoga instruction and social media management.

She just began a pro bono website design project for the nonprofit Sewing Masks for Area Hospitals. When she is not glued to her laptop, she can be found sewing costumes for local schools and community theater. Or bugging her kids about homework, posture and vegetables.
