Chalanda L. Tucker

Chalanda L. Tucker, a consummate Strategy and Project Management Professional (PMP), brings over 20 years’ experience having orchestrated successful lifecycle implementations in the public, non-profit, faith-based and private sectors.  Areas of focus include academia, financial services, retail, healthcare, technology and telecommunications.

Director of the Strategic Program Management Office for Atlanta Public Schools’ (APS) Accountability and Information Technology division.  Ms. Tucker also provided leadership to and continues to support the district’s annual Day One APS process tasks that ensures effective teaching and learning can begin on the first day of school.

 

Ms. Tucker holds an MBA from the University of Louisville’s College of Business, and she graduated from Spelman College with a degree in Economics.  Her unique professional experiences are undergirded by her certifications.  She earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification at the Project Management Institute (PMI) (Newton, PA).  She also earned her Master’s Certificate in Project Management at George Washington University’s School of Business and Public Management (Washington, DC).  Her Certificate in Information Technology was earned at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA), and she completed Kaplan-Norton Balanced Scorecard Certification from the Palladium Group (Boston, MA). 

 

A true community servant at heart, Tucker’s volunteer involvement is quite expansive.  She serves as a Trustee with the Center for Character Ethics (Chair, Strategic Planning Committee) and previously served on the boards of the Continental Societies, Inc. – Atlanta Chapter, Playworks Georgia/PlayMaker and The George Washington Carver Scholarship Fund.  She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and an engaged member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.  Professionally, she is a member of the National Black MBA Association – Atlanta Chapter and the Project Management Institute – Atlanta Chapter.
